Centre for History postgraduate taught and research students, Centre for Rural Health Sciences undergraduate and postgraduate taught and research students including nursing and optometry. Students enrolled at other UHI partners are also welcome to attend.

Graduation is a special day when you get to celebrate your achievements in the presence of friends and family. It’s also a special day for our staff, who are incredibly proud of you.

Our UHI Graduation 2025 will take place at Eden Court in Inverness at 11am on Thursday 13 November 2025 followed by a celebratory drinks reception.

Registration will be open online from Thursday 25 September 2025. You will receive an email on this day with further instructions.

Remember to:

  • Register your attendance, including guest tickets
  • Order your gown
  • Book official photography (optional)

Timeline:

  • Thursday 25 September 2025: Registration for our graduation ceremony opens. Eligible students should register via our graduation portal run by our official partners, Ede & Ravenscroft
  • Sunday 26 October 2025: Registration closes
  • Thursday 13 November 2025: Graduation

  • Graduand are entitled to two guest tickets. You should select the number of guest tickets you want when you register. All guests, including babies and children, must have a ticket. This is to ensure we stay within capacity requirements for Eden Court.
  • Graduand will not be seated with their guests, they will be seated in an allocated seating area
  • Guests should present their tickets to staff, who will direct them to the guest seating areas
  • Tickets will be available for collection when you register at Eden Court on the day of your graduation

Additional guest tickets for the ceremony and reception may be available via a ballot once we know final numbers. You will be asked to complete a form to request a maximum of two additional tickets in the ballot (this will be live once invitations have been sent out), your name will then be entered into the ballot, and you will be informed if you have been successful a few days after the registration site has closed.

Dress code and robe hire

All graduand must wear the appropriate academic gown/hood on stage. These should be hired at the time of registration via the graduation portal and can be collected from Ede & Ravenscroft, at Eden Court between 9.00am and 10.30am on the day. Please remember to bring your online booking confirmation.

Gowns can be returned to Ede & Ravenscroft at Eden Court by 2.30pm.

The ceremony is formal, so please come smartly dressed (no jeans). National dress is welcomed!

Ede & Ravenscroft are the official photographer for our graduation ceremony.

Official photography is optional and should be booked at the time of registration via the graduation portal. Ede & Ravenscroft will open for photography within Eden Court from 9.00am until 10.30am and again after the ceremony from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.

We will also take event photography and videography on the day for marketing and promotional purposes.

Guests are also welcome to take photos and videos of the event if they wish.

9.00am: Graduand should arrive at Eden Court to register.

  • Register at our graduation desk in the foyer and collect any pre-booked guest tickets
  • After registering, we will direct you to our gowning room, run by our official gown supplier, Ede & Ravenscroft
  • Once gowned, graduand should attend for any pre-booked official photography. There will be a further opportunity for pre-booked photography after the ceremony
  • Registration closes at 10.30am. Graduand arriving late may not be allowed to participate

Parking at Eden Court: There is a pay and display car park at the back of the building and the Cathedral pay and display public car park is nearby. More information on getting to Eden Court is available on the Eden Court website.

Accessibility: Eden Court is equipped to welcome visitors with a variety of needs as the modern building has excellent facilities. The entrance is accessible by wheelchair, with six disabled parking bays located at the front of the building (50m from the entrance) and a further two at the back (100m). Assistance dogs are welcome in the building.

  • 10.30am: Empire Theatre doors will open for graduand and guests to take their seats
  • 10.50am: Last call for guests to take their seats
  • 11.00am: Ceremony begins
  • 12.30pm approx: Ceremony ends
  • 12.30pm to 2.00pm: Celebratory drinks reception
  • 12.30pm to 2.30pm: Pre-booked photography available with Ede & Ravenscroft
  • 2.30pm: All gowns to be returned to Ede & Ravenscroft at Eden Court by 2.30pm at the latest

Celebratory drinks reception

Following the graduation ceremony, a complimentary celebratory drinks reception will take place in Eden Court. Guests will be welcomed with a free glass of Prosecco or orange juice. Additionally, the bar will be open, offering a range of hot and cold drinks, as well as snacks available for purchase.

When you register via the graduation portal, you will be asked if you wish your name and award to be included in the graduation programme, which is given to all graduand and guests at the start of the ceremony. It’s important you provide consent for this during the registration process.
